Transcolab (The Cross-border collaboration laboratory for sustainability and innovation in the agri-food and agribusiness sector ) is a project in which universities, foundations, research centers, associations and companies from the community of Castilla y León and Northern Portugal join forces with the objective to promote collaboration between the research sector and the business fabric, promoting innovation in the agri-food sector

To do this, the project will establish a Cross-Border Collaborative Laboratory promoting various actions of action that contribute to the achievement of the specific objectives of POCTEP.

This project intends to improve the connection between research centers and companies, identifying the needs of the cereal sector and the scientific-technological capacities existing in the participating regions. Thus, they will be able to create synergies and joint actions that allow the transfer of R + D + i knowledge and generate new ideas and solutions adapted to market needs.

Additionally, it is intended to develop joint projects in order to create innovative products through the development of a series of demonstration actions that promote the creation of innovative technological products and processes in the sector. Specifically, bakery and pastry. To do this, it is intended to investigate new natural colorants and preservatives, as well as natural residues that could be used in artisan foods.

Lastly, the formation and mobility of the investigators will be fomented, between the different training centers and companies, developing a joint training pilot program, where researchers can benefit from the network created by Transcolab.
